Top gov t meeting focuses on promotion of one-billion-euro RWE investment in Greece for renewable energy projects

A major investment by German energy multinational RWE in western Macedonia was the focus of a top ministerial meeting on Wednesday, chaired by the prime minister, in fact.
Besides Premier Kyriakos Mitsotakis and a handful of ministers, the virtual meeting via teleconference included RWE CEO Dr. Rolf Martin Schmitz and his successor, Dr. Markus Krebber.
The investment includes the creation of a joint company by RWE s subsidiary, RWE Renewables, and Greece s Public Power Corp. (PPC), the dominant electricity producer and supplier in the country, with the intent of implementing one billion euros in renewable energy projects, primarily photovoltaic parks.

During the Lower House session, headed by Speaker Abdulmunim Oddat, MP Firas Qudah said that the 2.5 per cent growth rate mentioned in the budget is exaggerated , criticising the government s reliance on the sales tax and high share of pensions and general debt that both combined comprise some 30 per cent of the budget.
Deputy Zeid Otoum said that the difficult financial situation in the Kingdom is a result of successive governments failure to implement a fiscal policy instead of only relying on taxes and citizens pockets , the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

In the face of prevailing COVID – 19 pandemic the Government has taken every possible measure to provide all required facilities notwithstanding the health related restrictions imposed to ensure safety of the public. As the tourism sector is a vital component of the national economy of this country, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa called on the entrepreneurs of the field to get ready to embark on a new journey by overcoming challenges.
President made these remarks during a discussion with the representatives of the tourism sector held at the Presidential Secretariat today (17). Heads of line institutes in the tourist industry and leading entrepreneurs were present.
(Business in Cameroon) - The International Monetary Fund (IMF)’s Fiscal Affairs Department will conduct a technical assistance mission in Cameroon from February 15th – 26th, 2021.
